ادبیات نظری گذار به دموکراسی نشان می‌دهد که تغییرات سیاسی پایدار، نه صرفاً محصول جابه‌جایی قدرت، بلکه نتیجه شکل‌گیری نهادهای پایدار، فرهنگ سیاسی مبتنی بر مدارا، و توافق بر اصول بنیادین حقوق بشر است. تجربه کشورهای مختلف در نیم‌قرن گذشته نیز مؤید آن است که گذار موفق زمانی رخ می‌دهد که نیروهای اجتماعی بتوانند میان رقابت سیاسی و تعهد به قواعد مشترک تمایز قائل شوند.

در این چارچوب، جنبش دانشجویی ایران را باید فراتر از یک کنشگر مقطعی در نظر گرفت. این جنبش، در طول تاریخ معاصر، همواره بخشی از نیروی محرکه جامعه مدنی بوده و در بزنگاه‌های تاریخی، نقشی تعیین‌کننده در طرح گفتمان آزادی، عدالت و قانون‌گرایی ایفا کرده است. اهمیت جنبش دانشجویی نه فقط در مطالبه‌گری، بلکه در ظرفیت آن برای بازتعریف افق‌های سیاسی و اخلاقی جامعه نهفته است.

در شرایط کنونی، که جامعه ایران با مجموعه‌ای از بحران‌های ساختاری، کاهش اعتماد عمومی و شکاف‌های سیاسی و اجتماعی مواجه است، مسئله اصلی دیگر صرفاً «چه کسی حکومت خواهد کرد» نیست؛ بلکه این پرسش بنیادین مطرح است که آیا زیرساخت‌های دموکراتیک، سازوکارهای تضمین‌کننده حقوق برابر، و فرهنگ سیاسی مبتنی بر تکثر شکل خواهند گرفت یا خیر.

بیانیه مشترک جبهه متحد دانشجویی و جبهه دموکراتیک ایران را باید در همین چارچوب نظری تحلیل کرد. این بیانیه صرفاً اعلام حمایت از یک فراخوان نیست؛ بلکه تأکیدی است بر تقدم نهادسازی دموکراتیک بر رقابت‌های قدرت‌محور. تأکید بر حقوق بنیادین شهروندی، پایبندی به روش‌های مدنی و مسالمت‌آمیز، و ضرورت حاکمیت قانون، نشان‌دهنده درکی نهادمحور از فرایند گذار است.

در تجربه‌های گذار ناموفق، فقدان توافق بر اصول بنیادین، شخصی‌سازی سیاست و حذف تکثر اجتماعی، زمینه‌ساز بازتولید اقتدارگرایی شده است. در مقابل، تجربه‌های موفق نشان داده‌اند که توافق حداقلی بر اصولی چون حقوق بشر، برابری در برابر قانون، آزادی بیان و مشارکت سیاسی، شرط لازم برای تثبیت نظم دموکراتیک است.

جبهه متحد دانشجویی و جبهه دموکراتیک ایران با صدور این بیانیه، حمایت رسمی خود را از فراخوان‌های اخیر دانشجویان اعلام می‌دارند.

جنبش دانشجویی در ایران، در طول دهه‌های گذشته، همواره یکی از ارکان پویا و تأثیرگذار جامعه مدنی بوده و در مقاطع مختلف تاریخی، نقش مهمی در طرح مطالبات آزادی‌خواهانه، عدالت‌طلبانه و قانون‌مدارانه ایفا کرده است. بر این اساس، مطالبات دانشجویان در چارچوب حقوق بنیادین شهروندی—از جمله آزادی بیان، آزادی تشکل‌یابی مستقل، حق تجمع مسالمت‌آمیز و مشارکت مدنی—از مشروعیت کامل برخوردار است.

ما تأکید می‌کنیم که پیگیری این مطالبات باید بر پایه اصول دموکراتیک، حاکمیت قانون و موازین شناخته‌شده جهانی حقوق بشر صورت گیرد. تقویت فرهنگ گفت‌وگو، پذیرش تکثر سیاسی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی، و به‌رسمیت‌شناختن حقوق برابر تمامی شهروندان، پیش‌شرط‌های اساسی هرگونه تحول پایدار و عادلانه در کشور است.

در شرایط کنونی که جامعه ایران با چالش‌های پیچیده سیاسی، اقتصادی و اجتماعی روبه‌روست، مسئولیت نیروهای مدنی و سیاسی آن است که از مطالبات قانونی و مسالمت‌آمیز دانشجویان حمایت کرده و از هرگونه رویکرد تنش‌زا، حذف‌گرایانه یا خشونت‌آمیز پرهیز شود. مسیر اصلاح و گذار به حکمرانی دموکراتیک تنها از طریق تقویت نهادهای مدنی، گسترش مشارکت آگاهانه شهروندان و تضمین عملی آزادی‌های اساسی هموار خواهد شد.

Democratic Transition, Institutional Design, and the Strategic Role of the Student Movement in Iran

Scholarly literature on democratic transitions consistently demonstrates that sustainable political change is not merely the result of elite replacement or power redistribution. Rather, it depends on the gradual construction of resilient institutions, the internalisation of democratic norms, and the establishment of a broad-based consensus around fundamental rights and constitutional principles.

Comparative experiences over the past five decades—from Southern Europe to Latin America and parts of Eastern Europe—indicate that successful transitions occur when political actors distinguish between competition for power and commitment to shared democratic rules. Where institutional safeguards, pluralism, and rule-based governance are prioritised, democratic consolidation becomes possible. Where they are neglected, authoritarian relapse often follows.

Within this analytical framework, Iran’s student movement must be understood not as a periodic protest force, but as a structurally significant component of civil society. Historically, student activism in Iran has functioned as a normative engine—articulating discourses of freedom, accountability, and justice at pivotal historical moments. Its strategic importance lies not only in mobilisation capacity, but in its ability to redefine political horizons and ethical expectations within society.

Iran today faces structural crises: erosion of public trust, economic strain, political fragmentation, and institutional stagnation. In such circumstances, the central question is no longer merely “who governs,” but whether democratic infrastructures, protection of civil liberties, and accountable governance will be established.

The joint statement issued by the United Student Front and the Democratic Front of Iran should be analysed within this broader theoretical context. It is not simply an endorsement of a call to action. It represents an institutionalist understanding of democratic transformation, prioritising rights-based discourse, peaceful civic engagement, pluralism, and the rule of law over zero-sum power politics.

Historical evidence from failed transitions demonstrates that personalisation of politics, exclusionary strategies, and the absence of consensus on fundamental rights frequently lead to renewed authoritarianism. Conversely, successful transitions are built upon minimal but firm agreement on universal human rights, equality before the law, freedom of expression, and inclusive participation.

Student Message Press considers the role of an independent media institution to extend beyond reporting events. It carries the responsibility of reinforcing rights-based narratives, promoting institutional thinking, and encouraging civic accountability. The United Student Front and the Democratic Front of Iran hereby formally announce their support for the recent calls issued by Iranian students.

Throughout modern Iranian history, the student movement has remained one of the most dynamic and influential pillars of civil society. At critical junctures, it has articulated demands centred on freedom, justice, accountability, and lawful governance. Accordingly, student demands grounded in fundamental civic rights—including freedom of expression, independent association, peaceful assembly, and civic participation possess full legitimacy.

We emphasise that the pursuit of these demands must remain anchored in democratic principles, adherence to the rule of law, and internationally recognised human rights standards. Strengthening a culture of dialogue, recognising political and social pluralism, and guaranteeing equal rights for all citizens constitute essential prerequisites for any sustainable and just transformation in Iran.

At a time when Iranian society faces complex political, economic, and social challenges, civil and political actors bear the responsibility of supporting lawful and peaceful student demands while avoiding exclusionary, escalatory, or violent approaches. The path toward democratic governance can only be advanced through the strengthening civil institutions, informed civic participation, and guarantees of fundamental freedoms.

Heshmat Tabarzadi, Secretary-General of the Democratic Front of Iran, underscores the necessity of solidarity among civil and political forces in defending fundamental civic rights and reaffirms his support for the lawful and peaceful demands of students. He further emphasises that institutional democracy, equal rights, and unwavering commitment to universal human rights principles are indispensable foundations for a stable, just, and development-oriented future for Iran.

حشمت‌ الله طبرزدی از زندان مرکزی اصفهان:
به‌عنوان پیکارگری در راه آزادی، و انسانی که کرامت، جان انسان‌ها و دموکراسی را در اولویت می‌داند، نکات زیر را با صراحت اعلام می‌کنم:

1. آنچه در دی‌ماه سال جاری رخ داد، مصداق آشکار جنایت علیه بشریتاست. هیچ فرد یا نهادی حق توجیه آن را ندارد. جامعهٔ جهانی موظف است تکلیف خود را در برابر این باند جنایتکار روشن کند و از به‌رسمیت شناختن آن به‌عنوان دولت خودداری نماید. اخراج نمایندگان این رژیم از مجامع بین‌المللی یک ضرورت اخلاقی و حقوقی است.

2. مسعود پزشکیان با اقدامی شرم‌آور، این جنایت را تحت عناوینی چون «اغتشاش» و «تروریسم» توجیه کرد، بی‌آنکه حتی یک‌بار کشتار هزاران انسان توسط حکومت را محکوم کند، و در عین حال خود را «رئیس‌جمهور مردم ایران» می‌نامد. حامیان موسوم به اصلاح‌طلب او—از جمله محمد خاتمی، حسن روحانی و سیدحسن خمینی—نیز عملاً با سکوت و موضع‌گیری‌های خود، جنایت علیه بشریت را توجیه کرده و در کنار دیکتاتور ایستادند.

3. خامنه‌ای و پزشکیان به‌دروغ مدعی به‌رسمیت شناختن اعتراضات شدند. این در حالی است که من، به‌عنوان یکی از چهره‌های شاخص فراخوان‌های اعتراضی و کنش خشونت‌پرهیز طی سی‌ویک سال گذشته، به‌همراه یارانم در اتحادیهٔ دانشجویی، جبههٔ متحد دانشجویی و جبههٔ دموکراتیک ایران، بارها با عناوین واهی «اقدام علیه امنیت ملی» و «فراخوان غیرقانونی» سرکوب، تفهیم اتهام و زندانی شده‌ایم. جرم ما چیزی جز نقد، اعتراض، و دعوت به تجمعات و تظاهرات مسالمت‌آمیز نبوده است. از منظر خامنه‌ای، اعتراض مترادف با تسلیم در برابر زور است.

4. مردم ایران—خانوادگی، میلیونی و مسالمت‌آمیز—با اتکا به وعده‌هایی مبنی بر عدم سرکوب، در تظاهرات آرام شرکت کردند، اما با رگبار مسلسل‌ها چون برگ بر زمین ریختند. در عمل، هیچ‌کس از آنان در برابر این کشتار بی‌رحمانه حمایت نکرد. آنان برای نان و آزادی قیام کردند، اما پاسخ‌شان گلوله بود.

5. با صراحت اعلام می‌کنم که تشکل‌ها، زندانیان سیاسی و پیکارگران راه آزادی، توان سازماندهی و رهبری جنبش آزادی‌خواهانه را داشته و دارند؛ جنبشی که تاکنون با فداکاری به این مرحله رسیده است. تجربهٔ اخیرِ اعلام رهبری فردی و فراخوان‌های فاقد برنامه، به دیکتاتوری خشن مذهبی بهانه‌ای برای ارتکاب جنایتی هولناک داد. آتش‌زدن اموال عمومی و قتل‌های فجیع، نه با اصول انسانی سازگار است و نه با اصول انقلاب؛ بلکه صرفاً مروج خشونت کور و انتقام‌جویی است.

این رژیم جنایتکار، خواه از طریق انقلاب دموکراتیک مردم ایران سرنگون شود و خواه از مسیر جنگ رهایی‌بخش، اما ما دموکراسی‌خواهان بر این باوریم که آیندهٔ ایران باید با رهبری شورایی و متشکل از نمایندگان بانوان، جمهوری‌خواهان، پادشاهی‌خواهان و ملیت‌های ایرانی شکل گیرد. تحقق خواسته‌های برحق مردم از مسیر تشکیل مجلس مؤسسان قانون اساسی، بر پایهٔ دموکراسی توافقی و با مراجعهٔ مستقیم به آرای عمومی امکان‌پذیر است.
ساختار سیاسی آیندهٔ ایران سکولار، فدرال و دموکراتیک خواهد بود. این سه مؤلفه، پیش‌فرض‌های بنیادین نظام سیاسی آیندهٔ کشورند.
رهبران مترقی جهان باید آگاه باشند که ظرفیت ادارهٔ جامعه در دوران گذار—تا استقرار حکومتی دموکراتیک، سکولار و فدرال—از سوی شورایی متشکل از آزادی‌خواهان، زندانیان سیاسی و احزاب مردمی وجود دارد؛ مشروط بر آنکه در حذف عاملان کشتار و سرکوب، از جنبش مردم ایران حمایت شود و به‌ویژه تمامی زندانیان سیاسی فوراً و بی‌قیدوشرط آزاد گردند.

Heshmatollah Tabarzadi:
As a freedom fighter, and as someone for whom human dignity, human life, and democracy are paramount, I hereby present the following points with full clarity:

1. What took place in January of this year constitutes a clear case of crimes against humanity. No individual or institution has the right to justify these atrocities. The international community must define its position decisively toward this criminal apparatus and must refrain from recognizing it as a legitimate government. The expulsion of the regime’s representatives from international bodies is a moral and legal imperative.

2. In a disgraceful act, Masoud Pezeshkian justified these crimes by labeling them “riots” and “terrorism,” without uttering a single word condemning the killing of thousands of people by the state, while simultaneously presenting himself as the “President of the Iranian people.” His so-called reformist supporters—among them Mohammad Khatami, Hassan Rouhani, and Seyyed Hassan Khomeini—have likewise, through their positions and silence, effectively justified crimes against humanity and aligned themselves with the dictator.

3. Ali Khamenei and Masoud Pezeshkian have falsely claimed that they recognize the right to protest. I have been a prominent figure in calls for protest and nonviolent resistance for over thirty-one years. Together with my colleagues in the Student Union, the United Student Front, and the Democratic Front of Iran, I have repeatedly been charged under fabricated accusations such as “acting against national security” and “illegal calls for assembly,” subjected to repression, prosecution, and imprisonment. In effect, I am a life-long prisoner of this regime. Our only “crime” has been criticism, protest, and calls for peaceful rallies and demonstrations. In Khamenei’s worldview, protest is synonymous with submission to brute force.

4. The people of Iran—families, in their millions, participating peacefully—took to the streets in reliance on assurances that they would not be suppressed. Instead, they were mowed down by machine-gun fire, falling like leaves to the ground. In practice, no one came to their defense against this brutal massacre. They rose up for bread and freedom; bullets were their response.

5. I state unequivocally that organized groups, political prisoners, and freedom fighters possess—and have long possessed—the capacity to organize and lead the struggle for liberation, a struggle that has been brought to this point through sacrifice and perseverance. The recent experience of declaring individual leadership and issuing unplanned calls for action provided the brutal religious dictatorship with a pretext for committing horrific crimes. The burning of public property and acts of gruesome violence are neither compatible with human principles nor with the principles of a genuine revolution; they only promote blind violence and revenge.

This criminal regime may be overthrown either through a democratic revolution by the Iranian people or through a war of liberation. Nevertheless, we—advocates of democracy—insist that Iran’s future must be shaped through collective leadership, composed of representatives of women, republicans, constitutional monarchists, and Iran’s diverse national communities. The realization of the people’s legitimate demands requires the formation of a Constituent Assembly to draft a new constitution, based on consensual democracy and direct recourse to the popular vote.

The future political structure of Iran shall be secular, federal, and democratic. These three parameters constitute the foundational prerequisites of Iran’s future political system.

Progressive leaders of the world must recognize that the capacity to administer society during the transitional period—leading to the establishment of a democratic, secular, and federal government—exists within a council composed of freedom advocates, political prisoners, and popular political parties, provided that the international community assists the Iranian people in removing the agents of killing and repression, and above all ensures the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners.

The Democratic Front of Iran, while honoring the memory of the late Khosrow Alikordi, strongly condemns the arrest of political and civil activists in Mashhad, including Narges Mohammadi, Pouran Nazemi, Javad Alikordi, Ali Adineh Zadeh, Kamal Jafari Yazdi, and other pro-democracy and human rights advocates.

The Democratic Front emphasizes that security crackdowns against peaceful civic activities constitute systematic violations of fundamental human rights , and that responsibility for these actions lies with the competent authorities.

Accordingly, the Democratic Front demands the immediate and unconditional release of all detainees, full guarantees of their legal rights, an end to arbitrary detention, and reparations for moral and material damages suffered.

با اندوهی عمیق و قلبی سرشار از احترام، درگذشت استاد بهرام مشیری اندیشمند فرهیخته، پژوهشگر تاریخ و فرهنگ ایران، و یکی از پیشگامان روشنفکری و خردگرایی معاصر را به اطلاع همگان می‌رسانیم.

استاد مشیری عمری پربار را در راه گسترش خردورزی، دفاع از آزادی اندیشه، مبارزه با جهل و خرافه، و پاسداشت حقیقت و کرامت انسانی سپری کرد. او از معدود روشنفکرانی بود که بی‌هیچ تردید در صف مقدم دفاع از عقلانیت و ارزش‌های انسانی ایستاد و تا واپسین دم، آزادگی و صداقت را در گفتار و کردار معنا بخشید.

در گذر دشوار تاریخ معاصر ایران، صدای او چراغی بود در تاریکی استبداد فکری؛ و اندیشه و آثارش همچنان الهام‌بخش نسل‌هایی است که در پی رهایی، آگاهی و حقیقت‌اند. میراث فکری و روشنگرانه‌ی او، نقطه اتکای فرهیختگان و آزادی‌خواهان امروز و فردای ایران خواهد بود.

It is with profound sorrow and the deepest respect that we announce the passing of Professor Bahram Moshiri, a distinguished scholar, historian of Iranian culture, and one of the leading figures of contemporary intellectual enlightenment and rationalism.

Professor Moshiri Professor Moshiri devoted his remarkable life to promoting critical thinking, defending freedom of thought, combating ignorance and superstition, and upholding truth and human dignity. He was among the rare intellectuals who stood unwaveringly at the forefront of defending reason and human values, and until his final moments, exemplified integrity and courage in both word and deed.

Throughout the turbulent course of contemporary Iranian history, his voice shone as a guiding light amid the darkness of intellectual oppression, and his thought and writings continue to inspire generations seeking freedom, knowledge, and truth. His intellectual and enlightening legacy remains a cornerstone for today’s and tomorrow’s scholars and defenders of liberty in Iran.

This statement is issued by Heshmatollah Tabarzadi , political prisoner and close friend of Professor Mashiri, who regarded him as a symbol of honor, courage, and critical thinking; and by Yasmin Hanifeh Tabatabaei, journalist, researcher, and political activist, to honor and commemorate this exceptional mind and human being.

An engineer by training and an architect of peaceful, civil, and nonviolent resistance, Tabarzadi maintains that while hunger strike is a legitimate right of every prisoner — political or otherwise — the incitement of unrest or violence within prison walls serves only to harm the prisoners themselves.

می‌گویند چون برای آزادی حشمت‌الله طبرزدی و سایر زندانیان سیاسی فراخوان داده‌ام، مرتکب «تشویش اذهان عمومی» شده‌ام!

ترکیبی که هر بار شنیدنش، حسی آشنا و در عین حال تلخ در من برمی‌انگیزد؛ واژه‌ای کلیشه‌ای که دهه‌هاست به سلاحی قضایی برای سرکوب صداهای مستقل بدل شده است.

اما پرسش اینجاست: مقصود قانون‌گذار از «عموم» دقیقاً چیست؟ آیا ما، به‌عنوان بخشی از همین جامعه، در زمره‌ی آن عموم به شمار نمی‌آییم؟ اگر چنین است، چرا رأی، اندیشه و دغدغه‌ی ما جزو اذهان عمومی محسوب نمی‌شود؟

به‌راستی، آیا شنیدن این‌که فائزه هاشمی احتمال قتل پدرش را مطرح کرده، یا این‌که برخی سقوط بالگرد رئیس‌جمهور را عمدی می‌دانند، یا آن‌که دیگری از رابطه‌ی خاص میان فلان مقام و کاترین شکدم سخن می‌گوید، ذهن مرا دچار تشویش کرده است؟ پاسخ، صادقانه و قاطعانه، منفی است. چنین سخنانی در جامعه ما تازگی ندارد...

اما به‌نظر می‌رسد این سخنان و پرسش‌ها، نه اذهان عمومی، بلکه اذهان خصوصیِ گروهی خاص از صاحبان قدرت را مشوش می‌کند — آنان که به جای پاسخ‌گویی، به مجازات و ارعاب متوسل می‌شوند.

ازاین‌رو، پیشنهاد من این است که از این پس در ادبیات قضایی و سیاسی، به جای این عنوان فرسوده و مبهم «تشویش اذهان عمومی»، از تعبیر دقیق‌تر «تشویش اذهان خصوصی» استفاده شود...

به بیان دیگر، اگر قرار باشد از «تشویش» سخن بگوییم، مصداق واقعی آن نه در جامعه، بلکه در ساختار قدرت است.

Disturbing Private Minds

They claim that by calling for the release of Heshmatollah Tabarzadi and other political prisoners, I have committed the offense of “disturbing public minds.”

Each time I hear this phrase, it evokes a sense of both familiarity and irony — a linguistic relic that has long served as a judicial pretext for silencing independent voices.

Yet a fundamental question arises: who exactly constitutes this “public” the law refers to? Are we, the citizens of this country, not part of that same public? If so, why are our thoughts, votes, and concerns excluded from what the state defines as “public opinion”?

Let us be candid. Does hearing that Fa’ezeh Hashemi suspects her father was murdered, or that some believe the president’s helicopter crash was deliberate, or that others discuss Catherine Shakdam’s alleged ties to officials — truly disturb my mind? The answer, sincerely and unequivocally, is no.

Such remarks are nothing new in our society. Anyone who rides a shared taxi in Tehran or stands in a bakery line will hear similar conversations. People discuss politics openly, sometimes boldly; their minds are not unsettled by these ideas. After all, our everyday existence is already crowded with contradictions far more disturbing than rumor.

It seems, then, that these discussions do not disturb public minds at all. They disturb private minds — the minds of a narrow circle of officials and power-holders who, instead of exercising accountability, resort to coercion and punishment.

For that reason, I suggest that our legal and political lexicon adopt a more accurate term. In place of the obsolete and imprecise charge of “disturbing public minds,” we should use the more truthful expression: “disturbing private minds.”

Because in reality, there is nothing “public” about this accusation. Its true function is to shield a fragile minority of elites whose minds are unsettled not by falsehoods, but by dissent. When confronted with criticism, it is they — not the public — who fall into anxiety and unrest.

Those of us in the media and intellectual community do not unsettle the people; we unsettle the powerful — simply by speaking truth. And yet, it is these very authorities who, through their arbitrary interpretation of law, censorship, and systematic intimidation, have for years disrupted the peace of mind of an entire nation.

Indeed, if we are to speak of “disturbance,” its genuine source lies not within society, but within the structure of power itself — where fear of the public has replaced duty to it.

در میان ما، یاسمین حنیفه طباطبایی بود — دختری جوان، آگاه، و شجاع که تنها جرمش عشق به ایران و آزادی بود. در همان روز، او را ساعتها تحت بازجویی‌های سنگین و غیرانسانی قرار دادند؛ و شامگاه ۷ آبان، دادستان فارس با دو اتهام پوچ و سیاسی، یعنی «رهبری گروه معاند» و «تبلیغ علیه نظام»، او را تفهیم اتهام کرد. سپس شبانه، به‌صورت تحت‌الحفظ، او را به سلول انفرادی بند ۲۰۹ زندان اوین منتقل کردند تا بازجویی‌هایش ادامه یابد.

در روزهای پس از آن، خبر رسید که در جریان بازجویی‌ها، خانم طباطبایی با تهدید، فشار روانی و رفتارهای غیرانسانی مأموران اطلاعات روبه‌رو بوده است — رفتاری که تنها هدفش درهم‌شکستن روحیه‌ی یک زن آزاداندیش بود.

من امروز، در حالی که سه سال و یک ماه و بیست‌وپنج روز از حبس ناعادلانه‌ی خودم می‌گذرد، هنوز تصویر آن سفر و آن بازداشت در ذهنم زنده است.

همچنین یاد مرحوم حاج علی رستمی، یکی از همراهان آن سفر، که دو سال پیش به رحمت خدا رفت، در دلم زنده است.

در نتیجه‌ی آن پرونده‌سازی‌ها، برای خانم یاسمین حنیفه طباطبایی حکمی ظالمانه صادر شد: یک سال حبس تعزیری، چهار ماه کار اجباری در خانه سالمندان، و دو سال محرومیت از عضویت در احزاب و گروه‌های سیاسی. این حکم در شهریور ۱۳۹۹ به اجرا درآمد.

اکنون من از پشت دیوارهای زندان دستگرد می‌نویسم: سال‌ها گذشته، اما ظلم و بی‌عدالتی همچنان ادامه دارد. ما را زندانی کردند، اما باور به آزادی را نه می‌توانند زندانی کنند و نه خاموش سازند.

آتش شاکرمی، بانوی آزادی‌خواه ایرانی، به دلیل بیان حقیقت و افشای واقعیت‌های اجتماعی، توسط محاکم قضایی به شلاق محکوم شده است.

این پرونده، که واکنش‌های گسترده‌ای در شبکه‌های اجتماعی و میان فعالان حقوق بشر برانگیخته، بار دیگر توجه‌ها را به سرکوب فعالان زن و محدودیت آزادی بیان در ایران جلب کرده است.

بر اساس گزارش‌های دریافتی از پیام دانشجو، حکم شلاق آتش شاکرمی برخلاف حقوق بنیادین شهروندی و آزادی بیان صادر شده و واکنش‌های گسترده مردمی با هشتگ‌های #آتش_شاکرمی، #زن_زندگی_آزادی و #عدالت_برای_آتش در فضای مجازی ادامه دارد.

در بیانیه‌ای که باسمین حنیفه طباطبایی، فعال سیاسی، منتشر کرده آمده است: “حقیقت با درد خاموش نمی‌شود؛ هر ضربه، فریادی تازه برای آزادی و عدالت است.”

خانم حنیفه ضمن محکوم کردن این اقدام سرکوب‌گرانه، بر حمایت خود از آتش شاکرمی و دیگر فعالان آزادی‌خواه تأکید کرده و اعلام کرده است که مطبوعات پیام دانشجو روند قضایی و وضعیت او را به‌صورت مستمر دنبال و منتشر خواهد کرد.
